Validating email addresses
Online butcher shop BBQuality offers high-quality meat for BBQ or daily cooking. To make the BBQuality database easily accessible and to increase revenue from the weekly newsletter, BBQuality developed an online “Scratch & Win” game in Deployteq. In similar previous campaigns, Happy Horizon noticed a significant bounce rate of 2%. The challenge now was to reduce this risk in the new launch.
Solution
- Customers leave their information to discover their prize. The collected first-party data is then sent back to the paid advertising channels via Deployteq, used to enrich ads, and as a basis for targeting groups.
- Using Deployteq’s Email Benchmark, Happy Horizon developed a goal of 0.52% bounce rate.
- An API was developed to validate email addresses in real-time through Debounce.
- We linked real-time validation to the email input field, with Deployteq, meaning a customer cannot complete the process on the campaign page without entering a correct email address.
Results
The solution helped BBQuality reduce the bounce rate from 2% to 0.16%. This protected their email reputation while avoiding the cost of unutilised leads. This success has enabled BBQuality to grow their database and increase sales through their weekly newsletter.
